Soprano Gillian Watson cultivates a highly desired combination of bright shimmer and rich depth throughout her sound. Her voice has been noted as having "both power and incredible sweetness."

Her most recent engagements include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with the Luke A. Housner - Summer Opera Workshop (LAH-SOW). Due to Covid-19 the live performance was cancelled however performances moved online and were met with success. In 2019 she had the honor to sing the title role in Tchaikovsky's last opera, Iolanta with the Russian Opera Workshop under the direction of Ghenady Merison. She was also a Fellow at the prestigious CoOPERAtive program at Westminster Choir College under the direction of Laura Brooks Rice.

Gillian has previously participated in the Russian Opera Workshop, where she portrayed Joan of Arc in the Philadelphia premiere of Tchaikovsky’s The Maid of Orleans, and Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, where she made both her German and role debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. She has also performed the Mother in Hansel and Gretel and covered the title role in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah, both with Red River Lyric Opera. Additionally, some of her favorite roles she has performed include Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Mimì in La Bohème and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus.

Currently, Ms. Watson is working on the title role in Bellini's Norma, Sieglinda in Die Walküre (Wagner) and Leonore in Fidelio (Beethoven). She is also preparing several concert and orchestral works including Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Mendelssohn's Elijah.

Ms. Watson holds both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied with César Ulloa. Until her passing, she was continuing her studies with Carol Neblett in Los Angeles, California.  In October of 2018, she relocated from Los Angeles to New York City where she is actively auditioning and performing.
